Can I just say I LOVE this months Scraptastic Kit? The colors and patterns are just oh-so-pretty! I created the next two pages from the January 2015 "This Must Be The Place" main kit and add on, and I am really happy with how they both turned out. :)
The first page is from when my daughters dressed up for "80's Day" during Spirit Week for Homecoming at their high school. We went to a couple of thrift stores to put these outfits together, and along with a LOT of back-combing and hairspray, we got them looking "totally rad" with their popped collar Polos and leg warmers!!!
80's DAY
Close-ups:
For my title, I printed the phrase "80's" directly onto my patternend paper, and then carefully cut it out, leaving a bit of a border around the printed black line. This makes it "pop" so it doesn't get lost on the page. Then I used the grey Jillibean Soup letter stickers from the kit on a "print and cut" tag to finish off the title.
For this layered border, I used a combination of tags, pieces from the "print and cut" files, a Maggie Holms transparency, and a couple of round tags from the Teresa Collins ephemera pack included in the add-on kit.
There are several ways to attach transparencies and vellum pieces to your page, but I really like the look of the mini staples on this phrase strip. :)
The next page is one of my new faves! I love the look of the woodgrain patterned paper mixed with all the other patterns on the page- diagonal stripes, chevrons, florals, dots and even cork!
MOTHER'S DAY
Close-ups:
I painted this wood veneer piece with white craft paint, then roughed it up with sand paper for a cool textured effect.
LOVE this custom flair button! Many of the flair buttons in the kits are designed by the talented Kaitlin Scheaffer and are exclusive to Scraptastic!
I typed my journaling and printed it onto grey cardstock that matches the letter stickers I used for the title of my page to finish it off. :)
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
