Hi All! Can you believe it is the last day of November? This month has just flown by! For all of my friends in the States who celebrated, did you have a great Thanksgiving? We sure did! But more on that later. :)
I have four new pages to share with you all! Of course, I used the ever-fabulous monthly kits by Scraptastic. :) The November 2014 "Shake It Off" kit and add-on have so many perfect papers and embellies! In total, I was able to create four pages and four cards with the kit and add-on, and am amazed at the amount of odds and ends I still have left over.
For these first three pages, I totally had Disney on the brain! :) We just got back from a trip to Walt Disney World in Florida two weeks ago. The hubs and I spent a week there with our friends, Perry and Susan Stringfellow, so I have tons of Disney photos to scrap from the trip. Not to mention all the other previous trips to WDW with the girls!
SPOONFUL OF SUGAR
The above photo is from the recent trip. LOVE that we found Poppins! We seem to find her every time we go!
Close-ups:
For the background, I used a white gel pen to trace the large scalloped design onto my white cardstock (I used the scalloped edge of another piece of paper as my guide). Then I sewed directly over the lines with my sewing machine using white thread. I LOVE the effect, even if it is time consuming. :) The gold touches on the embellishments in the kit are PERFECT, and went well with the sequins from my stash. :)
It didn't photograph well, but the title and not-so-hidden Mickey are cut from glittery white cardstock from my stash.

Here's another page with photos from our recent trip!
CHIP & DALE
For this page about everyone's favorite chipmunks, I attached 3.25" squares of various patterned papers to my background, and then stitched them down with my sewing machine. This blocking technique is a great way to use up scraps of paper left over from other projects. Use a few blocks, or fill in the whole page! Everything (except for the black title letters that were cut with my Pazzles) is from the Scraptastic November 2014 "Shake It Off" kit and add-on, including that fun tag with the gold "&". I'm telling you, there is sooooo much stuff in these kits!
So these photos of Chip & Dale crack me up! The pair were stealing things from passers by, like sunglasses, hats and backpacks, and trying to put them on each other. These two are quite the mischievous pair!
Close-Ups:
The fun primary colors in the kit were really ideal for these photos, don't you think?

This next page is from our 2011 trip to WDW with the girls. The girls do NOT like The Muppets, and even watching the 3D animated show in Disney World's Hollywood Studios with all of it's Disney magic couldn't change their minds. Bummer. I tried. :(
NOT FANS
Close-ups:
I lOVE how this page turned out, even if it is not a happy, smiley page about my girls loving every minute at Disney World. As the official documentarians of our lives, we scrapbookers need to remember to capture and document the likes, as well as DISlikes about the things around us.
For that cool sprinkled dots effect on my background, I sprayed my page with a golden yellow mist, and then used the stamped dots on this stamp set from Scraptastic. It can be purchased here:
Using black ink, I stamped the dots all over the right side of my page, being careful to not overlap my previously stamped dots. Then I added additional dots with a black pen to make the dots appear to "fade-out" from the stamped dots. LOVE the effect!

I created this last and final page for the Thursday Challenge on the Scraptastic blog where fellow DT member Meghann and I challenged readers to create a page using only black and white photos. You can read the full article here.
THAT ONE TIME
Close-ups:
I used the cut file from the kit to create my starry background. LOVE the digi-cut files that are provided in the kits each month! You can change the size to make them fit however you need them to on your page.
So that's it for now!
I am anxiously waiting for next month's kit to hurry up and get here because I know it will be awesome and I am dieing to create even more things to share with you all!
BTW, here is a recap of our Thanksgiving:
The hubs, the girls and I spent the entire day with our adopted family, The Martins, in Boise and had the best time! We simple LOVE that family and they mean the world to us. We may not be their "blood" but they treat us as if we are, and for that, we are truly thankful. I hope you had the chance to spend the holiday with people you love as well!
Thanks for stopping by!
Later,
nancy
