Right after I got back from Greece, I decided to can peaches. :) Random. right? I know, I am like that sometimes!
I really needed to replace the peaches in my food storage that I had canned several years previous. The old peaches were brown and gross-looking because I followed the advice of a SIL to add a peach pit ot the jar because they "supposedly" make the peaches taste better. After doing some research online, I found out that the "peach pit" idea is actually an old wives tale. Doesn't change the flavor, can actually make the peaches turn brown, and peach pits contain cyanide in a high enough level that it is harmful to children.
So I went to my fave fruit stand, bought four boxes of peaches, followed the recipe straight out of the Ball Blue Book on Canning, and they turned out perfect!!!
I used the October 2014 "Heart It Races" kit and add-on from Scraptastic Club to create this layout. The colors in the kit were s great match!
JUST PEACHY!
I loved this patterned paper by Studio Calico that comes in the kit:
I cut apart the strips and used the ones that seemed to work with my photo as little banners along the left side.
Then I used this patterned paper from the kit:
I cut it apart and created "faux" file folders along the bottom of my page for a place to tuck little goodies.
I really like how this page turned out! The October 2014 "Heart It Races" kit and add-on by Scraptastic Club were perfect for this layout!
Thanks for stopping by!
