I have been having so much fun playing along over at Scraptastic! For Challenge #6- "Use Your Scraps", I decided to try something different. I used my scraps, but was also inspired by the minimalistic look of MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) when we were there in NYC less than two weeks ago.
The stark white walls designed to show off all of the incredible artwork was still fresh in my mind, so I focused on recreating that look.
And I have to say, to stand there in front of THE "The Starry Skies" by Van Gogh- his MOST famous piece, and then walk down a hallway and into a room to see the breathtakingly soft and subtle colors of "Water Lilies" by Monet, and then into another room filled with nothing but the curious cubist works of Picasso, is intensely humbling. Words cannot describe the sense of awe I felt just to be in the same room as such works by the Masters.
I could literally spend every day sitting in front of each piece just staring in amazement.

Close-ups:
For this page, I used lots of little pieces of scrap patterned paper I had lying around on my desk from previous projects. Papers are by Cocoa Daisy, Basic Grey, DCWV and American Crafts. I just randomly stuck them on the page- no rhyme or reason. :) Then I ran the page thru my sewing machine. Again, no real thought as to where I would sew. I literally just let go of the paper and let the machine sew wherever it felt like sewing. I would then shift the page to one side of the other to re-direct the stitch line, but never really controlling the machine much.
I think the page turned out rather "artsy", don't you?
Thanks for looking!
