I am still happily plugging along with the challenges over at Scraptastic for their 4th Anniversary Celebration.
I finished this next page last night, but didn't get the chance to upload it til tonight. This is for Challenge #3- The Color Challenge by my dear friend Madeline Fox. :)
Here is the palette she created (the gold color in the swatch is supposed to be a metallic gold):
And here is my interpretation:
IF THE CROWN FITS...

And trust me....it fits.
I went a little lighter with the overall look of my page by using a less-intense shade of the dark pink and aqua, but I had NO problem with the gold! I seriously just so happened to have exactly four leftover gold foil mini cupcake liners from a party we had earlier this year. A happy accident!
Also, if you look closely at the white cardstock pieces (hearts, banners, tags) I used on my page, you can see they have an embossed, almost pearl-like "resist" pattern. I would normally color these pieces with inks or colored mists to show the cool resist texture (which is really fun by itself), but for this page, I liked the look of the white on white.
I really dug into my stash for these papers as I am no stranger to mixing manufacturers from all across the board! I feel that is sort of my "thing" lately. After all, I have papers from every manufacturer under the sun, and if I am gonna use it, I gotta mix it up!
The darker pink border is really old K&Co., rose print is Webster's Pages, diagonal pink is American Crafts, light blue and pink glitter zig-zag heart is DCWV, white resist pieces are Heidi Swapp, gold foil lettering stickers are American Crafts.
See that really cool gold foil diagonal stripe tape? LOVE IT!!! But don't ask me where I got it, cuz I don't remember. :(
So thanks for stopping by!
