Puppies
Yup, it's official. I have unquestionably, and most definitely lost my mind. I have rescued two Black Lab puppies (one male, one female) and added them to my already-large passle of three cats (Ginger, Cocoa and Flour), one dog (Ellie- my spastic, ADHD, pure-blooded Mini Aussie Shepherd that hops thru the sagebrush like a jackrabbit) and two moody, hormonal teenage girls. Yup, good and lost.
But you have to understand, I just could NOT
say "No" to these simply adorable furry little faces:

Are these not the most adorable little guys you have ever seen? I think not! (LUV this pic, btw)
Ashley and I were on our way home from her bus stop when we saw these poor little babies wandering in the middle of the highway out here in our section of the middle-of-nowhere about to be run over by a giant Simplot semi-truck filled to the brim with several thousand pounds of sugar beets. It is harvest time here, and there is a always at least one giant truck rumbling down the highway at 70 mph every other second. These poor little balls of fur didn't stand a chance! So we did what anyone else with a beating heart would do, and we stopped to get them out of the middle of the road. There was not a single house around, so we decided to bring them home til we could figure out what to do with them.
The next day, after assuming they had simply been lost by a loving owner and not, heaven forbid, "abandoned" by someone (imagine the inhumanity), I took them to the Animal Shelter in Boise (an hour away). They checked the puppies for microchips, because even though they were found without tags, any responsible owner would have at least had them microchipped. Nope, no microchips. No tags. No reports of missing adorable little black puppies with white spots on their chests. So after verifying that they were in fact, Black Lab puppies (cuz I was concerned that they may be some sort of cross breed), the sweet gals at the shelter said that I could either leave them there, or take them home and keep them after filing a rescued puppy report. Well after a week, and not hearing a word from the shelter saying that someone had come in looking for two Black Lab puppies lost in my area, these little furries are officially the newest members of the family, much to the relief of the rest of the brood. Well, except for Ginger- aka: "Grumpy Old Cat".
So after a couple trips to Petsmart for collars, little engraved name tags, a dozen toys, and bags and bags of puppy food, Boston and Mia are making themselves right at home. :) Vet appts are scheduled for next week for their shots and Boston will get...well, you know- can't have a boy puppy running all over the desert looking for a girlfriend and adding to the ever-growing "homeless pet" population. So wish me luck! (I'm gonna need it)

Paper
Between cleaning up messes (puppy related), moving furniture based on foot traffic (also puppy related), creating better hiding spots for the cats (very puppy related) and rescuing several pairs of shoes from the jaws of death (um yeah, sooooo puppy related), I have still managed to get some pages done! Go me!!!! Granted, this means I have not showered or worked out at all, but by dang, I scrapped! Priorities, people.
I always try to play along with the challenges at The Color Room and Color Combos Galore and so after looking at the palettes I have worked on recently, you will see that I have been up to my eyeballs in pink and green papers!
So this is palette #31 over at The Color Room:
As always, I just LUV playing along with color challenges and have been a featured artist a couple of times at both of my fave sites. The above palette is just so yummy and "springy" , don't you agree? This is my take on the challenge. The lightest green looks a little too yellow on my completed page compared to the green in the palette, but I still love the end result:
"A Sister"

And then there was last week's challenge #164 over at Color Combos Galore:
Yup, more pink and green, but different shades and intensities.
Thank goodness I have an endless supply of girly photos to go with all that pink!

So there you go! I am working on a few other projects, and if I get a decent break from Puppyland tomorrow, I may finish up and take pics to share. :) Thanks for looking!!!
