Lots of Projects!

As many of you know, I have been asked to teach classes at the scrapbook store "Scrapadoodles" in Caldwell, ID. I am happy to be included in the "goings on" at this fun store. The owner, Aimee, is the sweetest thing, and is probably my biggest fan. :) Her support means the world to me!

I have all sorts of fun stuff planned for everyone all month long in May! 

Below is the sample for my class "Get Gifty" which will be held Friday the 8th, right before Mother's Day! So if you are in the area, stop by Scrapadoodles and join us! (Click on the images to see them close-up).

 

On May 12th is my class "Card Party". I will be teaching five cards that can be used for all sorts of occasions. Each month will be a different "Card Party", so stop by often to see the cards I will be teaching. I have to mention that the latest issue of PaperCrafts Magazine was most helpful with lots of ideas easily adapted for my class! Love that mag!

  

On May 16th is the class "Get Crafty" and I will be teaching students how to make a super cute necklace made with rolled paper beads. The necklace was made by my dear friend, Heidi Smith, from Daisy Bucket Designs. It was a gift from Heidi, and she has so graciously given her permission for me to teach it for a class. Unfortunately, the necklace is at the store already on display, so tomorrow I will have to go "borrow it back" and take photos!

On May 26th, I will be teaching a "Mini Madness" class. This will be a mini album class offered once a month as well. This month is a vintage inspired album using papers from the Fashionista paper line  by Graphic 45. I just LOVE these papers!

It's Official!

Well, I can finally share the exciting news!!! I am one of the newest members of the Kaiser Craft Design Team! Here is the official announcement on their blog:

The bizarre thing is that I am the only DT member from the United States!!! Most everyone on the team in from Australia, with the exception of one from Scottland and one from South Africa. I feel very humbled and honored that they chose me as well. :) Actually, I knew that I had made the team a week ago, but just now was allowed to share it with everyone!

KaiserCraft sneaks!!!!

So I submitted to the KaiserCraft DT call. Now it is all up to the powers that be. I read in their forum that they had 144 people apply!!! This makes me a bit nervous because that's a lot of talent to choose from. But I remind myself that I made the Graphic 45 DT, and they had over 200 applicants, so my odds are better for this go round. 

At least this is not my first rodeo, so if I don't get picked, it will not be the end of the world. In this industry, the success usually comes with alot of rejection along the way as well. So I never take it personal. You just can't take it personal. That is why, after 11 years, I am still plugging away at it. Or maybe it is because I am a glutton for punishment. But I do know one thing: only the ones who perservere (sp?) will still be around when all is said and done.

So with that, I give you a few sneak-peeks of what I submitted for the KaiserCraft DT call. They will announce the new DT "towards the end of April", so we will just have to wait and see what happens!

Happy Easter!!!!!!!!!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

We finally got some peas and beans planted in the garden, better late than never, right? Next will be a few more strawberry plants, and a TON more veggies. Lots of hard work over the next few weeks since we also have to build a couple more planter boxes to put it all in! I just LOVE having a garden and watching things grow. It is good for my soul. If I play my cards right, Andy may even start on the front yard- finally, and then I will have GRASS!!!  

I am cooking a ham and doing deviled eggs today, and making strawberry pies to take over to the neighbors for our Easter dinner this afternoon. Yummmm!!!

It is also my birthday, so I got some nice things from my family, and breakfast in bed!

Speaking of "gardens", I have a few things to share:

This is a "Flowers in my Garden" mini album I did about the cats (and our first dog) that we have had over the years that are no loger with us. Sadly, this does not include many other pets: a bunny, a bird, several frogs and a fish, as well as another dog we only had for a few short months. I will have to make pages for each of them and add them to the album (I may need to get a bigger album). 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Oh, forgot to add: Chpboard album is by Maya Road; all patterned paper, flowers, and pebbles are Prima; and letters on the front of the album are all American Crafts. Labels (names) on pages are done with a Dymo label maker. Clear bobble things used on thew front cover were sent to me by my dear friend Suz (she is crazy talented), and the square rhinestone gems were stolen from my daughter's headband. ;)

Mr. and Mrs. Robison

So here is a page that I have been meaning to share. This is a pic of my nephew and his new bride on their wedding day last summer- don't they look just lovely?!!! 

I did a bit of photo editing to get a softer, more sepia wash in the photo before printing it. I really enjoyed adding all the frillies and flowers to this one. I love the yummy soft pastel colors in the Baby2Bride line by Graphic45. Even though there are definite "baby" themes in the line, overall, there are plenty of soft, non-baby things to play with, and it helps immensly that the papers are double sided. Thanks for looking!
