So we had some pretty bad flooding in this area a couple of weeks ago. What a mess!
The floods washed out the roads in several areas. As I was driving home during the worst of it, I came to a spot where the road in front of our lane was closed due to a large amount of water rushing over the road. So, I had no choice but to sit in line with the other drivers to wait it out.
As we sat, we witnessed a huge swell of water pass in front of us and head down the hill to my neighbors farm. Knowing that my neighbor's animals were in danger, I (along with my two daughters and another driver) promptly got out of our vehicles and ran down the hill to get to my neighbor and help get her animals out of the rising water.
The animals were successfully evacuated, and other than having to trudge through a slurry of flood water mixed with hail, manure, and other farm nastiness up to my knees for an hour that really grossed me out, everything turned out fine.
Somehow, in the midst of the chaos, my youngest daughter, Anna, found a tiny little kitten shivering and howling on a tiny bit of high ground in one of the flooded barns.
Well, you can guess what that led to!
So meet Milo- the newest member of the family. :)
How CA-UTE is that?!!
So of course, I had to scrap pics of this adorable little guy!
I used several papers and stickers from the Cocoa Daisy September kit- "5th & Main" and the add-on "Flower Stand".
The cork arrows are from the Cocoa Daisy July kit- "Cabana".
LOVE the Cocoa Daisy kits! Chock full of a great variety of the latest designer papers, and lots fun little extras. :)
Thanks for stopping by!
