Palette numbers, that is! (Okay, cheesy i know). Sorry.
So I have been following along with the color palettes at both The Color Room and Color Combos Galore.
First up is The Color Room palette #26:
LUV this color palette! Really easy for me to pick the perfect photos for my page. I followed a sketch from SketchSavvy HERE to come up with:
Product used: Basic Grey (white w/red polka dot paper & raspberry red lace paper), Daisy Bucket (striped paper) and Creative Imaginations (black floral background paper and black laser cut lace border), Viva Decor (liquid pearl dots), Offray (blakd sheer ribbon), Creative Imaginations (metal/rhinestone flower center, black velvet flower), KaiserCraft (ornate frame and "Dream" rub-ons), Tim Holtz (metal frame). Other: stitching and red silk flowers. Note: For the white lacey accent tucked under the bow, I cut a strip of white cardstock, scallop punched the edges, and accordion folded.
Anna is as total "Fashionista"! Seriously, besides wanting to be a geneticist (yes, you read correctly) and super model when she grows up, she also wants to be a fashion designer. I have no doubt she will accomplish all three. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now for The Color Room palette #29:
Product used: Making Memories (large multi-floral paper), The Girls' Paperie (blue script, green script, rose floral, pink polka-dot papers) DCWV (blue swirl paper), MME (blue polka-dot and pink floral papers). Martha Stewart (paper doilies), K&Co (pink stitched flower w/button), American Crafts (white and green letters). Other: stitching, pop dots.
Thought this would be sooooo "in-the-bag" for me. I followed a sketch by SketchSavvy HERE. I matched the papers, stayed true to the palette. LOVED the end result. But then I photographed the page outside and something went wonky. I don't know what it is, except the fact that I shot this in low light and had to really boost the brightness in Adobe afterwards. Now I am not so thrilled with the result. It looks drab and flat, almost like a scan. I will have to re-shoot this page tomorrow if it is not raining or snowing.
So this is a page about miss Anna and how thru the years, she has always been so comfortable in front of the camera and so "photogenic".
So now onto a couple pages for Color Combos Galore:
Color Combos Galore palette #162:
Okay, not the easiest palette to work with, but I love the little bit of red ric-rac poking above and below the cup cozie, so I had to give it a go using a fun sketch from SketchSavvy HERE:
"Friendship is a gift (BFFS)"
Products used: SEI (all patterned paper and tabs), KaiserCraft (paper flowers and rub-on saying), American Crafts (letter stickers). Other: stitching, buttons, wave deco-edge scissors and ticket (not sure who makes the ticket).
Bright page, huh? Yup, that's what I love about a sunny day- it's easier to photograph my work!
The photos I used on this page are of the girls and their friends when I took them on a day trip butterfly hunting. We also stopped in Idaho City and looked around like a bunch of silly tourists. :) (I will have to add that little tidbit of journaling to the page later).
And one more page for Color Combos Galore:
Color Combos Galore palette #163:
LUV this palette! As the challenge states: "Combine stripes and damask". Easy peasy!!! I followed a sketch by SketchSavvy HERE and love what I came up with!
"So Very Happy"
Products used: MME (striped and polka-dot papers, hand-cut flowers), Fancy Pants (damask paper), KaiserCraft (rub-on scalloped circles), American Crafts (letter stickers). Other: stitching, buttons, foam mounting tape.
This photo of Anna makes me happy, and now this page makes me happy! I really love how this one came together. The photo on the page is from a quick pic I snapped of Anna while we were in WDW in 2008. We had just been to visit Minnie's House, and were riding the train from Toon Town back to the front of the park. So fun!!!
So that's it for now!!! FIVE pages in about a week-and-a-half. WOOHOO!!!!!
Thanks for looking!
